2017 Broc Cellars Chenin Blanc, Frei Vineyard, Sonoma, California (750ml)

Frei Vineyard is located in Solano County’s Green Valley. The area is a small pocket of land, about 3 miles long and a mile wide – tucked between the southeastern edge of Suisun Valley.

These are newly grafted vines onto what was originally Pinot Gris. The Chenin cuttings come from vines planted in 1979 from Story Vineyard in Amador County. Producer notes ~ Direct pressed, fermented and aged in neutral French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 10 months. 100% malolactic fermentation. All of our wines are made naturally, meaning no use of inoculated yeasts or bacteria. We use only native yeast to spark fermentation. We do not add any powdered tannins or enzymes. A minimal dose of S02 is added 4 weeks before bottling to some wines.
